Unlike many here who have their own shop, I was a contract worker jumping around larger corporate customers configuring & fixing their equipment.
Apple’s move to system’s without USB-A ports forced a few of my customers to walk away from Apple gear as they were dependent on cypher keys which need to be directly attached to the system, not via a dongle or hub device which could be altered unbeknownst to the user (man in the middle attack risk). For my other big customers the lack of the ability to memorialize a systems drive or remove it so it could be destroyed was the other downfall for Apple.
So I’ve been working out of my home fixing systems as I could over the last few years.
Well, its finally happened! I’ve, fixed my last system for now. My arthritis has finally made it too hard to do much of anything delicate in the cold weather. Maybe in the late spring I’ll give it ago again.
I’m still helping people keep their systems running as long as they can be here on iFixit!

"SMC reset required for every boot."に関する回答Well, your battery is trouble! I’m suspecting one of the four cells is bad as the status is lying to us! First your batteries cycle count is beyond the 1,000 cycles you can see here: Determine battery cycle count for Mac notebooks I’m also sure you are still using the original battery or one that’s been in your system for awhile given the age of your system (2012). Time to replace the battery! MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2009-Mid 2012) Battery and heres the guide: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012のバッテリーの交換

"MBP reboot loop even after ssd replacement"に関する回答@scottjohnson - Ask nicely as some shops follow Apple's guidelines on repairing older systems Mac products obsolete worldwide. Just ask for them to run the diagnostics only make sure you take note of the error/s. Some independent shops may have the needed service diagnostics. FYI - Apple Stores won't help you.
"cannot install macOS 10.13/later because of missing firmware partition"に関する回答Try working up the releases. Sierra to High Sierra, then Mojave. If that fails you’ll need to backup your drive (if you have anything on it thats important) create a bootable Mojave OS installer thumb drive. Using it to boot up under delete all of the partitions and format the drive with GUID with a journaled file system (the OS installer will upgrade it to APFS).
"Computer locks up when watching a video"に関する回答Are you sure you have the 2012 model? I'm suspecting you might have one of the 2011 models. In that series the discreet GPU’s often failed. If you're sure then your CPU's graphics engine has failed or the CPU's solder joints are heat fatigued (failing) we often call this cold solder joints.
"Display works for a couple of seconds on startup and then turns off"に関する回答What I can tell you is batteries do have a lifespan! Your battery is just old! It’s the original battery your system had (or you swapped it out with other used battery). Note the your batteries cycle count is getting very close to the batteries limit of 1,000 cycles (currently 884) and also consider the age limit is around 2,000 days which is just over three years (yours 3,253 days old). Determine battery cycle count for Mac notebooks Bottomline your issue is most likely a worn-out battery. What is hard to explain is the why! Lets look at a mind model of a bunch of containers are water. The top container is your charger pouring into a second container via a pipe at the bottom. This is at a max rate of 5. Now the second container has a pipe as well that has a max rate of 10. So as long as the tank was full the time it will take will be X, but if the tank is half full then its one half of X and clearly if the container is almost empty then it won’t take long for the water to become a trickle of what the...
"Will I get a free replacement"に関する回答The T-CON board is part of the display assembly and not replaceable on its own (not an available part). As to prove the cause thats tricky! While we know and have seen lots of people hitting this issue, it would be hard to prove as either yours or Apples failure. Mostly I blame bad design as Intels CPU’s just run to hot from the limited cooling this system has. I think you shouldn’t have any difficulty getting your system repaired.
"Replaced battery recently, but glue not sticking completely"に関する回答I never liked the Apple method of glueing batteries in as the surfaces need to be spotless and free of any junk as well as oils. Then you have the issue of the uppercase frame being slightly warped from a blistered battery so it can be difficult to get the new battery to stick down. Basically a bad design choice! Now you’ll need to start off cleaning the upper case area using GoofOff to remove all traces of the old adhesive. Then as is an oil you need to now remove the traces of it as well using reagent quality isopropyl alcohol 85% or better. Rubbing or cheap isopropyl alcohol has other stuff in it which can mess you up! Use paper towels to blot off the wet a few times so you are sure nothing is left. OK, last step! Now you’ll need to repeat to get the old tape from the battery off using the same method and then get some wide 3M double stick sheets to replace the ones you have. Whats important is not getting anything thick as the space is very limited. And you don’t want to touch the surfaces with your...
