Laptop Does Not Power Up

Drained/Dead Battery

The first thing to check for is a dead battery. Plug the unit in with it's AC charger and let it charge for at least 15 minutes and try turning it on again. Make sure the outlet the AC charger is plugged into works properly. To do so use an alternate electrical device to check and make sure the outlet is not faulty. In addition make sure the AC charger cable is fully plugged in.

Laptop is Overheating

Cooling Fan not Working

Put your ear next to the ventilation holes to make sure the fan is running. You will hear a soft whirring sound.

Cooling Fan is Covered

Check to make sure that the cooling fan is not being covered or blocked.

Will Not Read Disks

Scratched Disk

Remove your CD from the laptop to make sure it is not badly scratched. If so, it may need to be replaced. Try cleaning it with soap and water and a microfiber cloth.

Laptop Running Slowly

Too Many Applications Open

Running a lot of applications at one time will use a lot of memory and slow down your computer. Close some of those programs.

Insufficient RAM

Sticky Keys and Malfunctioning Keyboard

Keys are not Responding

The keyboard needs to be replaced if is all response has been terminated.

Keys are Stuck in Place

If the keys are stuck remove the keyboard and make sure nothing underneath is hindering keys from being pressed down. If any liquids have been spilled on the keys remove keyboard and clean key slot thoroughly.
