    • If you connect the battery charger to the computer and it turns on, look in the bottom right corner of your screen to see battery conditions.
      • If the battery is charging, remove the charger to see if the computer stays on. If it does, your battery may be fine. If not, you have a bad battery that may indicate that it is charging, but is not actually holding a charge.
      • If battery is charging but the charge level is not moving up in percentage, you have a bad battery that is not holding charge.
      • If battery is not shown to be charging, check the connection of the battery. If it is connected properly, you may have a bad battery that is not holding a charge. You could also have an issue with the battery making contact with the actual contacts of the computer, in which case try cleaning the contacts out with a q tip and computer dusk cleaner. • If the indicator light does not illuminate when you hit the power button, you may have a bad battery.

    • If you connect the battery charger to the computer and it turns on, the display is working.

If the screen is displaying something, but is running dimmer than usual, it may be a battery issue, a LCD screen issue, or a smaller intermittent issue.

  • Try powering computer with the charger.
    • If the screen is brighter, it is likely a battery issue.
    • If the screen is still dim, it is likely another issue.

LCD Screen Issues

  • If the battery power supply and charger are both working properly, you may have an issue with the actual screen itself. Try to unplug the laptop and remove the battery then hold down the power button for ten seconds then place the battery back and plug the adaptor back and try to turn it back on and see if the LCD works.
  • If the screen is displaying a dim or fuzzy output and you checked the potential power issues, you may have to replace the screen.
    • In addition, if instead the computer is turning on when you hit the power button, but the screen is not displaying anything, you may have to replace the screen.

  • If you are experiencing slow load times on your internet browser but your internet speeds are fine elsewhere in your house you have a RAM issue.
  • Before you replace your RAM sticks, remove them from the computer, clean the contacts, and place them back in correctly. If the slowdown issue is gone, the RAM sticks were not making good contact with the computers contacts.
