Hi, I have only just began to dismantle my Paperweight (SumUp Reader) I will upload my findings at a later date but currently it seems as though the only way to reset the configuration is with an interface (I haven’t figured out which as yet?) but have I have tried several various software methods. I have managed to make the device discoverable but non writeable! Once I have uploaded the Board & component details (Photos) I am hoping that there will be others that will recognise them & maybe able to offer a schematic? Unfortunately at this moment in time, I am afraid that a replacement unit is currently the only quick fix solution
続きを読むI have just had a chat with Sumup support with a “Device is Blocked. Please contact support [0105000000]” - Message I purchased my device 3-4 years ago. After receiving it I initially set it up & it has spent the remainder of its time in the Box it arrived in (Completely un-used) The trigger for my blockage isn’t shock, impact nor tampering! it’s because “I haven’t charged the battery regularly enough?” according to the support team? I queried if this apparently timed (Self-Detonation) feature was mentioned in the “paperwork that I would have received when I purchased the card reader?” The answer that I received was “It is advised to charge the Battery regularly, To prevent damage to the Battery!” I then asked “Is the Blockage due to Battery failure?” To which the obvious answer is NO. The Battery was Flat, so I connected it to my PC & I was immediately greeted by 4 illuminated lights & the message above… The Cardreader remained connected to the PC whilst I spoke with the customer support team (Approx 15...
続きを読むIt looks like the PMIC The same as the Iphone 6s (if memory serves correctly)
続きを読むIn my experience I have found on several occassions that there is more than likely contamination on the connector (where the button connects to the screen) it is clearly visible beneath a Microscope & probably noticeable using a good quality Magnifying glass. using 99% alcohol & a toothbrush clean the connector (do not douse the connector, alcohol has a tendency to get beneath the screen & cause damage) make sure the connector is both dry & clean & then reconnect the home button.. I find that at least 50% of water damage Home Button problems on Iphones (inc Iphone 7s) can be remedied by cleaning the connector I can not stress highly enough to need to disconnect the home button connector cautiously!! the Home Buttons are very easily damaged whilst trying to remove them (the Flex is very easily torn!!) if the flex is torn then you will open a completely different “Kettle of Fish” I hope this is of help
続きを読むHi, There is a replacement available for Damaged Iphone 7 - 7 Plus - 8 & 8 Plus Home buttons It requires the replacing of the original Charging port & Flex with an aftermarket modified Charging port & Flex The modification allows the installation of a aftermarket Home button Both the flex & button are included within the kit The replacement will operate the “Return to Home function” but will not facilitate the “Touch ID facility” essentially the same as the Iphone 5’s & Iphone 6’s with replacement Home buttons..All the functionality but no “Touch ID” This is achieved essentially by replacing the Iphone 7’s & 8’s button (which are effectively Electronic sensors) with a old style mechanical Button (Internally) Similar to the older Iphone 5’s & 6’s… Cosmetically once they are fitted the new replacements are identical to the newer Iphone 7’s & 8’s style buttons…. The replacement Buttons have the “Click” when pressed unlike the Iphone 7 & 8 Buttons I repair phones Professionally & before finding these...
続きを読むOccassionally the Rear Camera IC (U2501) can fail & stop supplying power to the Rear Camera U2501 is located on the rear of the board (just above the Wi-Fi Module) a method of testing & temporarily bypassing the switching mode of the IC is to remove U2501 & solder a jumper wire between the pads A1 & A2 beneath the IC This method should be temporay because it will supply power to the Rear camera permanently, even when the Rear Camera is not in use Potentially resulting in increased Battery consumption & maybe shortening the life expectancy of the Rear camera itself? (U2501 provides power to the Rear Camera whilst its being used & no power whilst the Camera isn’t in use?) In addition Pad B2 is GND & Pad B1 is supplied via L1802 (Coil) which primarily provides the additional power for the autofocus feature L1802 is part of the Buck9 line and is generated via the Main PMIC Hopefully this will be of use to someone
続きを読むUnfortunately the idea that Rice will draw any moisture from the internals is at best a myth, You would do better to just submerge the phone into a bowl of distilled water or better still 99% alcohol ( to displace the existing water contamination) normal water contains various electrolytes, salts etc it isn’t the water that does the primary damage it is the electrolytes that conduct the electrical current from one part of a internal circuit to another causing shorted components, capacitors etc. because the battery is still electrically charged the electrolytes carry that current around any exposed circuitry within the phone hence the getting hot…. The phone shuts down but the corrosion continues within the phone components… as a result the initial damage is ordinarily repairable but if the phone is powered on whilst there is any moisture remaining inside the phone it causes further shorts? all the while the remaining components that were initially exposed to the conductive & corrosive electrolytes have now...
続きを読むI think the Tristar IC U4500 is at fault… It is a common fault on all tristar variants, when a after market charge lead has been used ordinarily, (a voltage spike damages Tristar internally) Tristar will allow the battery to charge whilst it has a charge in it? (Tristar still recognises the battery) but if the battery is allowed to deplete completely a Tristar fault is that it will not recognise the battery as if it were non existent?? An easyish fix is to remove the battery & either charge it externally (If your able to?) or replace it with a charged battery & do not let it fall below 20% Alternatively have Tristar replaced…Good luck I hope this helps somebody
続きを読むCheck for a Micro tear in the Flex connector, I have had issues with erratic charging, No touch ID, Bootloop (Recovery mode) & overheating caused by a Microscopic tear in the flex.. I have just temporarily removed the flex connector & all of the issues above have dissappeared.. I now have no rear flash & I presume no rear camera until my replacement flex arrives

Some issues are caused by the flexing of the Stick (being inserted & removed) around the HDMI connector internally, in addition to the Heat dissipation issues the Fire TV Stick is known for having……. I have just re-soldered the internal cracks around the HDMI connector on my Fire TV Stick & have replaced the Amazon provided USB power adaptor (which is 1.0 ampere) with another adaptor that I have (Which is 1.35 ampere) & the stick is now operating as well if not better than it ever has
