Nokia Asha 201 Troubleshooting
This troubleshooting page will help you with underlying problems with the Nokia Asha 201.
Cell Phone Will Not Power On
The cell phone will not respond or show any sign of powering on.
Faulty Charging Cable
Ensure that the charging cable is plugged into your device and plugged into an outlet correctly. If the cell phone does not power on or respond to being connected to the charging cable, the charging cable may be faulty. Consider purchasing a replacement charger.
Faulty Battery
If the cell phone only powers up when the charging cable is connected, regardless of charging time, then the battery is faulty. Replace the battery using this guide.
Distorted Audio
You have trouble listening to sounds on your device.
Volume Level
If you cannot hear sounds from your device, make sure the volume on your device is turned on. To adjust the volume settings, go to menu and click on settings, under settings go to tones and then select on ringing volume to adjust the volume of your device.
If you have completed the above step and determined that the volume is turned on, but the sound is still not projecting, the next step is to clean the Nokia Asha 200 Speaker Ways and Motherboard to ensure there is no carbon, rust, or dirt affecting the connection using the guide here.
Distorted Audio in Headphones
If the volume is becoming distorted when listening with headphones but not when listening without them, the audio jack or headphones themselves may be faulty. If audio will not play with headphones, even when the audio jack is fully inserted in the device and the headphones are working correctly, you may need to try replacing the headphones or updating the phone.
Keyboard/ Keys Not Responding
The keys on the keyboard will not respond or may be broken
Faulty Keyboard
If the entire keyboard fails to respond, try replacing the motherboard.
Keys Are Stuck In Place
When the keys can’t be pressed, there may be something below keeping it in place. To fix this, remove the keyboard and clean underneath the keys. Once cleaned, put the keyboard back in place.
Faulty Screen/ Display
Your phone screen is white/flickering or cracked.
Cache is Full
Your phone cache is full, and is causing problems on your screen. Restart your phone, either by pressing down the “end call” button on the keyboard, or take the battery out and put it back in. This should fix the problem.
The LCD in the Display is Disconnected or Damaged
This is the most probable if your screen is still white and flickering after restarting it. The phone must be disassembled, to ensure that the LCD is connected to the logic board. It must be either reconnected, or replaced. In which case, you can find the guide here.
Screen is Cracked
You have damaged the LCD screen, and it needs to be replaced. You can find the guide here.
