Fingerprint sensor not replaced with new screen - easiest fix?
Due to a fall during my vacation, I had to urgently have my Pixel 7 Pro screen replaced far from home (in Spain, in fact). They told me they could replace the screen but did not have the time to reinstall the old fingerprint sensor (I had to catch the next flight, so I'm not mad about that). But now I have a working 7 Pro without a fingerprint sensor, and I can only sell it as broken even though it's perfectly fine otherwise. I also tried the Reddit re-calibration workaround just to make sure it's really a hardware and not just a calibration problem (Fingerprint Calibration Tool workaround : r/GooglePixel (reddit.com)), to no avail. So I'm thinking about "upgrading" a fingerprint sensor myself to get it to at least the "normal" state again. What would be the most "doable" fix here? Or should I "write it off"?

So your phone has the original fingerprint sensor or they kept it . I’m not familiar with Google phones . I’m just thinking if the original fingerprint sensor is in the phone still why doesn’t it work?

It's attached and wired to the screen on its back side and has to be transferred from the old screen to the new one including rewiring, which they just left out.

I mean they left out the old sensor, not just the wiring

If they gave you the old screen and fingerprint sensor you can sort it either yourself or at a repair shop , if not they left you a bit screwed!? Unless I’m missing something 🫣

They didn't, and I didn't ask for it then (was a bit taken by surprise and had to catch a flight, and I was glad anyway that the they had fixed it at all). I certainly can't get it know, if anything, I'll get a new sensor
