Hey everyone, I've got a MacBook Pro 14" M2 from 2021 that was running smoothly until recently. Now, it won't boot up no matter what I try – I've checked the power cable, the charger, and held down the Touch ID button. Frustrated, I decided to open it up and disconnect the battery, and that seemed to do the trick. However, here's the catch: I have to repeat this process every morning because it refuses to boot again.
I've experimented with leaving it charged and turned off, but nothing seems to change. It's almost like the battery drains overnight, and then it struggles to recognize the charger or boot. Could this be related to macOS Sonoma? I've heard it has some battery consumption issues. Should I consider rolling back to Ventura, or could this be a battery-related problem? Currently, the battery is at 86% capacity with approximately 700 cycles. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
