How do I figure out if the logic board is damaged?

I bought a used mac mini. It was working fine when i checked before buying it. But when i turned it on at home, there was some short circuit in the power supply(i was on the login screen when this happened). The AC-in connector is damaged on the power supply and i can see burnt plastic near the connector.
