I have a G9X Mark 2 - There are 2 blades (not 3) above and 2 blades (not 3) below (in reference to the top and bottom of the camera.
The blades closest to the lens are attached with a tiny spring near the pivot post of each. Note that there are two positions to attach the spring on each of the blades. Mine uses the attachment hook nearest the post (the other is not used).
The blades closest to you (that is, away from the lens) are also connected to the same pivot posts, but they do not have a spring. They lie flat on the blade below them.

Do you have any pictures on how the springs attach to the blades? My camera fell from a tripod while setting up to make a star movie, the impact jogged everything loose. Thank you.
Do you have pictures on how the blades attach to the springs?
When I removed the cover, one of the springs came off. It’s a very tiny thing and you’ll need to use a tweezers to carefully hook it back to the moving blade and the fixed point. This serves as a caution to be very smooth when you remove that cover so as not to jar things. It’s the cover that actually holds all the blades in place so that’s one reason to be careful.
As mentioned: note that the mark 2 is evidently different than the original g9x (or perhaps a change was made in production at some time)
thank you to the original person who posted this. My g9x mark 2 has some differences, (fewer parts) for which I’ve added notes. After disassembling and then reassembling (using alcohol to clean the parts) everything functions perfectly.

Thanks for the instructions, it takes a fair bit of effort to remove the cap, at there are small sections of tape holding it in place. some gentle heat might help the process, i have linked to video and images of the removal process(video and images of removal process) there was a small amount of gunk on the inside of the blades and once removed everything was perfect again.
