The laptop automatically turns off every time.

When I use my laptop(DELL VOSTRO 2420), it automatically shuts down every time I use it. Sometimes it shuts off after 20 minutes, sometimes in five minutes. How do I resolve this issue?

Can you elaborate a bit on this? Are there any symptoms?
Do you get any warning messages or anything?

I would first start with installing HWMonitor and keep that running, and monitor it. See if it's a spike in temperature just before it shuts off. It could very well be high temps that makes it shut off, which can be caused by several things.

Old thermal paste that needs replacing
Clogged up fans and / or air vents
Dust buildup inside that prevents air flow for cooling

There were no symptoms but it will shuts off only when we use certain applications.
