samsung ps42q96hd need caps identifying

Samsung PS42Q96HD , psu-BN44-00194A. Need Caps identifying Please.

( Position no`s on board with red on cap tops on Picture 3, )

CB402,CB801, CB806, CB807, CX801, CX404, CX408, CX409, CX410, CX411.CX413.The CX801 is sort of hidden but marked on picture 3 in centre of board. Also i need 2 surface mount resistors identifying on back of board , ( Position no is ,RS827, RS828. These are marked in picture 1 and 2 showing position on board ).

Also i have another psu board for the Samsung PS50Q97HD , BN44-00162A. and on the back i need 2 surface mount resistors and 1 surface mount cap which is a small brown one.Position marking on board is , Resistor = RQ895 and the cap next to it = CQ975 Then the second Resistor is next to that RQ815. All 3 are next to each other in a row as in pictures 4 and 5. I will be ever so thankfull for the information i need as my boards has them missing and need to complete them .When i get and fit the surface mounted resistors and surface mount cap i need " do they fit only one way round if so please tell me which way.The caps on the front of board i know how to do them ones. Thankyou for your time looking at this post.

Hi @moggy01

Here’s how to add images to the question.

iFixitでの質問に画像を追加する方法

I haven’t checked it out but here’s a link to the schematics for the BN44-00194A power board.

To download the document, click on the I’m not a robot checkbox below the document preview box and then click on Go to Download.

When the sentence below the document preview box changes from This file is downloadable free of charge (5/day): ...processing... to This file is downloadable free of charge (5/day): Download (samsung bn44-00194a), click on Download as this is the link.

Be patient as it takes a little while to find the file.

The circuit will show the capacitance value for the capacitors but most probably will not show the working voltage value for the capacitors, but it is a start.

If they are shown to be electrolytic capacitors on the circuit, this will be shown on the board and also on the capacitor

Here’s a link to the schematics for the BN44-00162A. Download it the same way as above.

There most probably will not be a power rating or tolerance value shown for the resistors but again it is a start.

It doesn’t matter which way you mount the resistors

Thankyou so much , I done what you said and now have them all identifyed now so i will proceed to sort this one but still need info on the samsunf 50" tv mentioned,.Once again Thnx.

Hi @moggy01 ,

The link for the schematics for the BN44-00162A was also there. Is this the board for the 50"?

Yes jayeff i just need info for the 50" BN44-00162A now mainly in second part of question now in bold print, mainly as to what numbers are on top of the 2 resistors mentioned as i have numerous spare boards i can maybe get them off. I checked on the schematic diagram i downloaded and told me as follows. ( RQ815-22k 2012. ) ( CQ875-1uf 2012 ) (RQ895-68kf 2012 ) But doesn`t say what the number is on top of the surface mount resistors.

Hi @moggy01 ,

the number 2012 refers to the size of the component in mm i.e. 2.0mm x 1.2mm. This is equivalent to 0805 in imperial size

For a 1uF capacitor the case code is 105.

However this is only the capacitance value. It doesn't give the voltage rating of the capacitor.

It doesn't matter if the voltage rating of the replacement is HIGHER than the required rating as this doesn't affect the capacitance and means that it will work OK at the voltages in the part of the circuit where it is connected.

If the voltage rating of the replacement capacitor is LOWER than what is required then it will blow as its'rating will have been exceeded.

Here's a link to work out the resistor codes. It also has a code calculator which may help

so 22K Ohm =223 and 68K Ohm =683

Again there is a problem in that in this case it doesn't give the resistor's power rating

As a final aid, here's a link to the service manual for the 50" which may also be of some help if you need to do any adjustments or tests.
