The Gateway NV52 was released in 2008. It is similar to the MS2274 and NV5207u models.

Hi ,
Connect an external monitor to either the monitor port or the HDMI port on the laptop and check if you can see a display on it. (Press Fn + F4 to switch to the external monitor)
(A TV can also be used as an external monitor if it has HDMI ports)
