Screen starts to come on, can see Dell
Screen starts to come on, can see Dell for about a 1/2 second, then nothing ?? Can hear it start up, but the screen is blank, so not sure of anything else.

Try a power reset: Unplug Laptop, remove battery and ram/ Press the power button for 10 seconds then install ram, install battery and try to power it up. "Make sure while installing your ram, that it is properly seated".

Its a battery issue unless you can still hear the fans of the laptop after dell logo. Power on the laptop without battery and let me know if it will work.

@mrsfanasty attach an external monitor to your laptop and let us know if that makes a difference.
