It isn't a hardware issue. Keep in mind that this is a tablet with stereo audio, not an entertainment center or a boombox. The speakers are capable of respectable listening levels in a small room if you are willing to sacrifice battery charge duration. Asus has provided an app that can adjust the sound quality and loudness, called the Audio Wizard. If it is turned off, or is set to Voice instead of another mode, the sound may be lower than many music listeners prefer. The default setting is to provide maximum battery performance and sound quality with earphones. You will find the Audio Wizard in in the Quick Settings panel (drag down from the upper right corner) on the top row, and also in the Drawer. If you rooted your tablet and deleted it, a version of the APK can be found on line.

The Launcher is software. Today ALL software has bugs. The biggest single Android issue is the lack of memory management that would permit several apps to run simultaneously without mutual interference,the second is a total lack of clean exit/shutdown requirements for Playstore apps. Many apps, when close by a more recently opened app, will cache data from their last run. This data can easiy become corrupted. A way to minimize the problems is to accept that Android is not multitasking. Use Developer options to immediately closed Apps moved to the "background". Clear all cache data periodically from Settings/Storage. Restart your device at least once each day, more frequently if you launch apps many times during the day. It sounds like the display panel module is bad. It can be replaced by a tech.

That you can detect tgat it is turning off and on means that the battery is good . The two most likely probabilities is that it is stuck in a corrupted startup, or the backlight has died. If the backlight, a tech can replace the display panel. The startup routine is stored in executable form in nonvolatile RAM. The factory image is store in nonexecutable form in protected memory. If it's a Startup problem, you can try to recover the tablet by doing a factory reset . This will recopy the factory image to nonvolatile RAM and make that copy executable. Your personal data not on an external sd card or cloud storage will be lost. Turn it off, wait 30 seconds and then when you turn it back on, hold down the power button for one minute. If you are lucky, the original factory image will be restored. The first startup will take longer than normal. Wait. I'm assuming that you've had this tablet for a while, and recharged it zt least once before. If not, return it for a different one. If you "pull off the back" without knowing how to do it, you're likely to break something while also voiding the 1 year P&L warranty.

If you try to install an external sd card on your tablet is turned on, you will have to go to Settings / storage and mount it. Generally this is not recommended. Installing a formatted external sd card is the recommended method because the tablet will scan for memory when it powers up and automatically mount the external SD card. If you unplug an external sd card from your tablet that has been mounted without first dismounting it, or powering down the tablet, here's a high probability that you will corrupt the file table on that card that have to reformat or repair it using a PC.

Asus tablets normally take much longer the power up if they are connected to the charger. Unplug the charger. Press and hold the power button or 5 to 10 seconds. If it does not start up it's possible that you discharged the tablet too far. When a tablet is discharged until the battery is flat often the charging circuitry will not function correctly, thinking that the battery is charged what it is not. When this has happened it is necessary to make multiple attempts at charging it for between 30 and 60 minutes each time, unplugging the charger from the tablet between attempts. Sometimes it's possible to trick the charging circuitry, by plugging the USB cable into the USB port of a PC that's powered on instead of the Asus charger. The last option requires some tech expertise since you have to open the tablet and short out the battery for a minute or two. This can't be done through the charging port. If the screen is cracked it's entirely possible that the screen is totally non- functional, so you have no obvious way of telling if its on or off. One way that you can try to determine whether the tablet is functioning is to use another computer to connect to your wifi router, and see whether it has tried to to connect to the router since you dropped it. If you're unable or unwilling to do that you have two alternatives, either replace the tablet or try to replace the screen. This isn't rocket science.

The two inline thermal fuses (brass cylinders with a black end) are far more likely to fail than the heating element. Check them first.
