This may be an old question, still answering it to help others. I had same issue with my droid 4. Bought a new flex cable alone (without LCD display) and later was stuck looking at the glued kind of connection. Done some googling and found some vidoes explaining some iPod flex cable replacement in which they talked something about 3M™ Z-Axis Electrically Conductive Tape 9703. I bought it from ebay.com and had to fix it very carefully making sure the alignment of connectors are proper. The fixing was perfect, but I think my LCD module was already damaged! I could get a blank lit screen nothing else.
