It's definitely worth your while, but no guarantee that it's not something else. But, being that the screen is cracked, the odds are in your favor that it took a good enough jolt that caused the LCD to white screen. You won't know until you swap it out though.

Which flex cable are you speaking of? I'm gonna guess the wifi ribbon cable. If so, this should be what you'll need: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en... Now you'll just have to find where to buy it in small quantities. When you do, post it back here please, as I have yet to have to replace one, but may someday.

I would venture to guess that it will be dry as a bone after a year...and like they say, "time heals all", so I don't think you would have caused it more harm by leaving it sit for a year. so: Have you tried plugging it into your computer to see if it is recognized? Have you left it plugged into power for a few minutes and then tried to see if the vibrate mechanism works (switch mute toggle on/off)? Try holding the home button while plugged into power and see if you hear voice control come on. Could be that the LCD is dead and you are not getting any visual signs of life, but other audible signs could be there. I would also guess your battery will need replaced. If it were me, considering it is water damaged, I would have it open and would pull the logic board and clean any signs of corrosion with alcohol and a toothbrush. I would also swap out the battery while I was in there. I would then move on from there w/ my troubleshooting.

Sure thing. You'll want to use: M5-0.8 x 12 mm Phillips Pan Head Machine Screws M5 Flat Washers M5 Nylon Washers You can purchase all of these at Lowes or similar store. For bulk purchase, I recommend http://www.fastenermart.com/. Tighten snug, until you feel that first bit of real resistance.

I don't recommend reapplying the x-clamps, as they are most likely a contributing factor to the RROD in the first place. One bolt through the backside of mobo (no washers, washers raise the center of the mobo up more in relation to the standoff's that encompass the inside edge of the metal cage = instant flex)...on the topside of the mobo, one nylon washer, then one metal washer, then the heat sinks. Speaking from experience, over 200 reflows performed, have never reapplied the x-clamps.

As the others have mentioned, you will be SOL if the previous owner has already thrown out the old drive. If they haven't, you will need to get it from them and extract the drive key from it. The new drive DOES NOT have to be the same make/model as the old one (unless you are just going to swap the logic boards, an easier fix). You can "Spoof" the old firmware and key to a new drive, essentially making the 360 think your new Benq drive is really the old Samsung (or whatever make/model it used to be). Also speaking from experience, over 100 drives replaced.
