It would be useful to know where this skill leads. Can one open up the touchpad and address the issue that makes it unresponsive? Where can one get a replacement screen? The HP site has all kinds of steps to correct a partially unresponsive keypad that assume the problem is software or firmware based. Maybe, but my experience was that HP's suggestions do not fix what is probably a hardware problem. So, it's great that one can get into the guts of the keypad, but given that HP isn't forthcoming with replacement parts, suggesting where to get them, or what to try to fix the faulty pad would be very useful info. Just saying!
