-[* black] Fine tune the derailleur by tightening or loosening the barrel adjuster screw. Loosening it it causes the derailleur to move slightly towards a larger sprocket, while tightening it moves the derailler towards a smaller sprocket.
-[* black] Shift through each gear while pedaling. The derailleur should move one gear every time you shift up or down on the shifter.
-[* black] If the chain skips or makes noise when not shifting, use the barrel adjustment screw to position the guide sprocket so it is right under the sprocket that corresponds to the number the shifter displays.
