[* black] To determine what version you have, look on the right side of the board. You will either have one or two of these ASIC chips.
[* black] If your Game Gear has two ASIC chips (Fig. 1) there will be two IC's on the right side of the board, and it should be a VA1. If your Game Gear has one ASIC (Fig. 2), it will likely be a VA4, however, there are further possible variations.
[* black] Look on the left edge of the main board for the VA number (Fig. 3). There are two options, VA1 and VA4, as well as a 7 digit board number.
