Hard resetting a Samsung Galaxy A12

I forgot my Samsung Galaxy A12 pattern so I decided to hard reset it . I switched it off and connected it to to my PC and pressed both the volume up button and power button at the same time. When the menu displayed the factory reset option wasn't there. how can I fix this problem
