3DS won't turn on after I connected it to computer

I tried connecting my 3DS to my desktop computer using the jack/USB cable (plugging in the jack end of the cable into the console's jack socket, and the USB end into my computer's USB socket).[br]

My console instantly turned off and will not start ever since. I think what I did ended up damaging some of the components of my 3DS.[br]
I can still charge it and the orange charge indicator turns on like normal.[br]
