This just started happening to my Samsung. Started in car with fast charger connected. I disabled the fast charging capability of the phone and so far that did the trick for now. I am also getting the "Check your charger connection" message when plugging in to "Make sure teh sable and charger are properly connected" indicating something is still off but like i said Its charging in normal mode at the moment without the burning smell that will likely kill the device.

This just started happening to my Samsung. Started in car with fast charger connected. I disabled the fast charging capability of the phone and so far that did the trick for now. I am now getting the "Check your charger connection" message when plugging in to "Make sure the cable and charger are properly connected" indicating something is still off randomly. If I flip the usb-c cable the message wont appear. Its charging in normal mode at the moment without the burning smell that will likely kill the device.

I would like to understand how the charging works and why flipping the usb-c cable makes a difference. I thought both sides are universal but despite the cable and ac power brick I use to test I get the same outcome. One side gives me a warning while the other does not.
