A Vostro 5 beep error code means that the RTC (Real Time Clock) coin cell battery on the motherboard has failed.
This battery is used to maintain the BIOS settings when the PC is turned off.

I think that the battery is a commonly available CR2032 Lithium coin cell battery which is available most everywhere e.g. supermarkets. Check the battery type number which should be stamped on the battery to confirm.

Once you replace the battery you ''may'' have to adjust the date and time on the PC after it is first started. This is because the BIOS has been reset back to factory default settings due to the battery being removed i.e. no battery power. Once you have adjusted the D&T the message won't appear the next time the PC is started.
