notebook will not boot up all the way

have a inspirion 1526 that will not power up all the way. It reboots when it gets to the screen with the status bar at the bottom for the operating system

Each time it shuts off it will start closing down faster and faster. Never reaches asfar as it did the first time.

Thinking maybe a overheating issue?
