I faced same issue since last 15 days. My mic will be suddenly mute. It will be ok after 2-3 reboots. Again it will not work after some time. I think it is software issue but when I revert to Android 7.1 , the problem is not solved. I upgraded to Android 9 p . I don't have the mic issue again. I strongly believe the issue is due to the android 8.1.
