Why is by screen black on galaxy s3

I have a galaxy s3 phone and I dropped it. the screen started turning pink then blue and by end of day it was black. I can hear the phone functioning just don't have display. when reading comments on this site I came to the conclusion I needed a mother board. I purchased one (part #225030-1) and installed it. there was no change. any idea what it could be?
