Laptop Will Not Read CD’s and DVD’s
Your Toshiba Satellite S55t-C5225 will not read any CD’s or DVD’s.
Defective or Damaged Optical Drive
If your Toshiba Satellite S55t-C5225 optical drive does not read CD’s/DVD’s or open, then the optical drive may be damaged and needs to be replaced. Follow this replacement guide.
Battery Will Not Hold Charge
The Toshiba Satellite S55t-C5225 will lose battery power faster than normal.
Faulty Power Adapter
If the battery does not fully charge when plugged into power adapter, power adapter may be faulty. Consider purchasing a new power adapter.

Operating System Failure
If laptop will crash or not operate properly, this may be symptom of not having the proper software installed. To upgrade your software start by opening Windows Update by clicking the Start button in the lower left corner. In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click either Windows Update or Check for updates. Click the Check for Updates button and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer. If there is an update click Install and follow the on-screen instructions.
Not Enough RAM
If the laptop will not open and run certain programs or applications, the RAM may need to be upgraded to have enough processing power. Follow this replacement guide.
Screen Isn’t Functioning Properly
Screen display is blurry, discolored, and sometimes does not respond to commands.
Laptop Is Unresponsive
If laptop is freezing frequently, perform a hard reset of the laptop. To do this hold the power button down for 5 seconds until the laptop restarts.
Disconnected Wire
Through the daily wear and tear of using a laptop, wires can occasionally loosen up and disconnect. To check and/or fix this, follow this replacement guide.
Cracked Or Damaged Screen
If there are visible cracks in the screen this could affect the functionality of the screen if they are deep enough. Follow this replacement guide.
Distorted Audio
While playing a video or listening to music the speakers have no audio. The volume menu is responsive and shows volume level.
Loose Headphone Jack
Test audio through the computer speakers, then test it using headphones. If the audio is only distorted while listening via headphones, the audio jack or the headphones themselves may be faulty or not properly inserted. Audio that cuts in and out is often a sign of a loose audio jack connection.
Water Damage
When the audio isn’t completely working this could be a result of water damage. Water damage is usually permanent so there’s not much you can do other than replace the old speakers with new ones. Follow this replacement guide.
Faulty Speakers
