First time on this site, which was recommended to me by Isreal my usual tech in Ibiza. As i´m now living in Mallorca I´m alone with my mac, as a dj and producer, shes kinda important and chose not to switch on as i was preparing to play out. not cool. ended up improvising with another dj´s set up and my music. anyway, bought a second hand one so i could continue to play and now have a dead mac that has all my dj/production software (no cracked versions) and my only saving grace apparently is i have a samsung ssd in there that should have all my $@$* safe. I was contemplating taking my mac to a repair show here but no as a half jamaican/english dj living here i am going to get fleeced, so reading this precise step by step explanation of how i could possibly do it myself with your guidance and save a few euros is amazing. I look forward to letting you know how i get on. thanks again. craig

Dear Craig,

Welcome to iFixit. I’m glad you’ve decided to tackle the repair of your MacBook Pro yourself. Rest assured that if you follow our step-by-step guide with a modest amount of patience and dexterity, it will be a walk in the park. Based on your post, it seems that you might have to do a bit of troubleshooting to make sure you are replacing the correct part. Here’s a link to our MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Troubleshooting page that will help you narrow down the issue with your MacBook Pro. Best of luck and I hope you are able to revive your MacBook Pro soon so that you may continue creating the dopest beats in Mallorca!

Best Regards.
