Pentesting, or penetration testing, is an authorized simulated cyberattack on a computer network to evaluate an organization's network security by finding vulnerabilities that could result in unauthorized access to an organization's data. Often times Pentesters will make use of several different hardware and software combinations depending on what kind of data they are attempting to collect from a target.
