Trigger does not work

If the trigger on your Craftsman CMCF810C1 impact driver is not working, check the following common causes:

• Forward/Reverse Lock: Ensure the directional control lever located right above the trigger is pushed fully to the left (forward) or right (reverse). If the lever is in the center position, it locks the trigger for safety ¹.
• Battery Connection & Charge: Verify that the battery is fully charged and securely clicked into place. If possible, test the battery in another compatible V20 tool to rule out a dead battery or faulty connection.
• Terminal Cleanliness: Inspect the metal terminals inside the battery housing and on the battery pack itself for dirt, debris, or corrosion that might be blocking electrical contact.
• Faulty Trigger Switch: If the battery is charged and the directional lever is disengaged but the tool still shows no response, the internal variable-speed switch module may have failed and will typically require repair or replacement through an authorized Craftsman service center ².
