Malfunction of keyboard and slow
My system is very slow in opening pages offline and keyboard is sticking and does not type. do i need an antivirus?
1st - run TFC - download from here http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/files/fil... and run from desktop = this cleans out temp files, caches, etc. Some malware might be residing there.
Next, test your HDD and system files.
Open a CMD prompt and enter CHKDSK C:
That will tell you if there are problems on your system drive. I like to know b4 fixing them.
Or you could just do this - it will fix them but won't tell you if it found anything.
If there are errors, enter CHKDSK C: /f That will fix them. You must reboot for it to run.
It may take a long time to run if there are errors.
If you have other drives, run the command on those also. CHSDSK D: /f etc.
When run on other drives (the fix /f flag), it will tell you if it found errors when it finishes.
Then go back to the CMD prompt as admin and enter SFC /SCANNOW
Then enter the following commands. You must be online for these to work.
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
If it isn't back to normal, then you need to look for viruses.
