I have recently rediscovered my Voyager Pro after not using it for 2-3 years and while the tablet is connected to my internet, apps that require wi-fi such as google claim there is no connection, in addition i was wondering if this was linked to my firmware being outdated, if so how do i update it?

I would not suspect a firmware issue even if it wasn't up to date. I wouldn't rule it out either.
How can you tell it is connecting to your router? If it is actually connecting, you should find an entry in your router system log.
That may also tell you why it isn't working.

Yea the date and time have been set to my current one, but when i check for a firmware update i get no response from my device
