iPhone restore error 4013

I was replacing the screen on the phone, and when I plugged it back in and turned it on, it started boot looping. I put in into DFU mode, and restored it with iTunes and it gave me error 4013. What may have caused this and what on the logic board might be faulty?

Try booting up the phone with front camera and home button extension connector unplugged from the board.

If it works, plug it back in one by one to find out which component is faulty.

For home button if that is found to be fault, it's either the home button itself or the metal plate that has the cable behind the screen.

Long screw damage can cause this too. If a longer screw than what should be in the screw holes near the screen connector is put in or overtightened, the circuit traces between the layers of the board at the screw hole can get damaged and cut causing this issue.

Hey Albert

I don't believe anything is faulted on the Logic Board itself, this sounds more software related. I think you should use the Recovery method instead of DFU mode for the iPhone. This gives you more access to the root files of the devices iOS and firmware.

To access the Recovery Mode hold the "Home Button" before you press the power. The phone will display the boot logo for a couple seconds then will prompt you to connect the device to iTunes. Once this is complete, you should be able to fully restore the device error free. The error is related to connectivity issues. So check to see that you have a cable without snags, rips, tears, or exposures.

You should also verify that the LCD panels cables' are fully inserted back into the Logic Boards connectors for the iPhone to read them.

Hope this helps good luck!

Recovery mode isn't working unfortunately. I tried a different screen too and no luck. I tried restoring through 3utools as well, but it gets to 19% and gives an error of -2. When hard resetting to move out of recovery mode, I heard a snap inside the board (an electrical snap), and the device disappeared from the computer, and re-appeared a second later. What might this be?

Check the cables on the screen again, the snapping could be electrical related. Don't power the phone on until you are sure everything inside is ok
