Troubleshooting
Check out the Nikon D90 troubleshooting guide for information to troubleshoot hardware problems with the Nikon D90.
Background and Identification
The Nikon D90 is a 12.3 MP (megapixel) digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera. The camera was announced by Nikon on August 27, 2008 as an upgrade to replace the Nikon D80. The Nikon D90 is meant to be a mid-level DSLR camera, fitting between entry-level and professional DSLR cameras. Unlike the previous Nikon D80, the Nikon D90 has an improved 12.3 megapixel resolution, and is the first DSLR to offer video recording. It is capable of recording 720p HD videos at 24 frames per second.
The Nikon D90 is also always mentioned with the Nikon D3000 because they have similar features. As opposed to the Nikon D3000, the Nikon D90 is more expensive and is aimed more toward more experienced DSLR camera users. The Nikon D90 has some additional features not found in the Nikon D3000. For example, the Nikon D90 has a built in autofocus motor unlike the Nikon D3000. This allows the Nikon D90 to autofocus with specific Nikon DSLR camera lenses.
