I only cut one of the wires connecting to the soundbox and the sound completely stopped. Im not too upset bc that was my goal, but I did want to see how much quieter it would get.

Also, to anybody who might have the same problem as me: After I cut the sound wire the machine would not turn on at all and I was very confused. Turns out another wire (black wire connecting the circuit board to the + on the battery pack) came loose. I stripped it a bit and got it back in place (albeit with a piece of tape) and it turns on fine now. So use more caution than you think you need when handling the floor of the machine, at least when the wires are still connected.

Current problems:

1) left/right joystick not responding, but after a good jiggle its back to functioning again. Same happened with the machine not powering on again (this was after fixing the wire), but turn it upside down and back, and its working. And once everythings working, when you move the joysticks the red light in the prize chute flickers a bit. If i had to put money on it id say its the wire being attached to the battery pack with a $@$*!& little piece of tape, but ill try soldiering it back so i'll see if that fixes it

2) up/down function of the claw often gets stuck with a grinding sound. Releasing the joystick back to neutral and trying again usually gets it working, but id still like to fix it. Im pretty sure this is more of a mechanical issue than electric, but i still don't really know what the problem could be

I’ll update my comment if I find the solution to these issues. But be wary that im currently a software undergrad, not electrical/mech, so i honestly dont rlly know what Im talking abt lol
