Background and Identification
The Zebra ZP 505 released in 2010 as a thermal printer designed exclusively for parcel and post label printing with FedEx’s Ship Manager. The device is identified by a label across the top reading "ZP 505".
The ZP 505 boasts exceptional print speed at 5 inches per second and is noticeably compact relative to other printers. The ZP 505 also is exceptionally simple as it does not utilize toner or ribbons, which cuts down on costs, and connects to computers via USB connection. Also included in the printer kit is a cleaning pen, which is claimed to maintain print quality and extend print head life. There is also a storage slot in the printer for mini-CDs which provides quick access to the user guide.
The ZP 505 was part of the ZP series of thermal printers made by Zebra, with each model in the series being compatible with a given postal carrier. The series has since been replaced by later models, but due to its ease of use, durability, and value the ZP 505 still proves to be a highly effective and viable option for labeling.
