The LeapPad 3 Learning Tablet (model number 31500) debuted in the summer of 2014, and is designed for children 3-9 years old. The LeapPad 3 can be distinguished from earlier models by the name above the display assembly.

The LeapPad 3 includes a 5" screen, kid-safe web browsing, 4GB memory, a rechargeable battery, front and rear facing cameras and video recorders.

There have been no official manufacturer recall notices, nor are there any failures noticed by previous consumers.

There is a video on Youtube that goes in depth into a LeapPad repair guide. It is however, a guide for the original LeapPad, not the LeapPad 3. That being said, the inner workings are similar, so some repairs are similar as well.

Another guide can be found on an iFixit guide. It happens to be for the LeapPad2 Explorer, but it is a very well constructed device page and provides solutions for several issues.

There is a troubleshooting link located on the LeapFrog site itself, but it deals primarily in software-related issues and does not cover any hardware issues.
