Background and Identification

Hewlett-Packard (HP) manufactures consumer electronics, including laptops, desktops, printers, monitors, and more. HP originated in 1939 when Bill Hewlett and David Packard, two Stanford electric engineering alums, combined their last names and began their new company out of a garage in Palo Alto, California. Interestingly, HP was just a coin toss away from being called PH (Packard-Hewlett). Hewlett-Packard today is still headquartered in Palo Alto, but the company supplies electronics worldwide.

Amidst the collection of HP consumer electronics are HP tablets. HP tablets come in a range of sizes, allowing consumers to pick the device optimized for their intended use. With lower price points than other tablets on the market, HP tablets can be a cost-effective alternative. For instance, the HP 7 starts at just $99. HP also sells numerous tablet accessories, including cases, screen protectors, and, of course, speakers and headphones.

HP tablets are thin, rectangular devices. They include a touchscreen and aluminum encasing. All tablets have the HP logo somewhere on the device. HP tablets come in different colors, but they are commonly black.
