Background
The Eton FRX3 is an American Red Cross emergency radio released in 2012 by the Eton Corporation. This rechargeable AAA-battery equipped device can be passively powered using the solar panels and actively recharged using the hand turbine and DC adapter through the included mini-USB cord. It features FM, AM weather alert enabled radio, alarm clock, and LED flashlight. This device is also capable of charging smartphones using USB that enables 30 seconds of emergency phone call or 10 to 15 minutes of radio or flashlight use with every minute of charging with the hand crank. You may also find an auxiliary input for external MP3 players, a headphone output, and glow-in-the-dark locators around the rim that makes it easier to locate the device in the dark.
Identification
It can be differentiated from the other models including FRX2 and FRX1 by their specifications and features where the later model has an extended, fordable hand crank, several new features, and a large, more box-like appearance.
