Background and Identification
Released in August 2007, the Canon PowerShot A720 IS is an upgraded version of the Canon PowerShot A710 IS, which emerged just a year prior. What distinguish it from its predecessor are its improved sensor and image processor, namely, a notable increase in its ISO sensitivity as well as its ability to use face detection technology. The latter allows for higher quality portraits and other pictures with human subjects.
Other features include red eye elimination, autofocus and auto exposure, and a print/share button to facilitate downloading and direct printing.
Canon's A-series cameras are lauded for their ergonomic design, broad range of easy-to-use features, and impressive value relative to their price.
