The Bose SoundLink III is the 3rd generation of the SoundLink Mobile line of Bluetooth-capable portable speakers. It has received favorable reviews for its sound quality and ease of use. As of March 2016, it has not been replaced by a 4th generation of the SoundLink Mobile.

For simplest identification of the speaker, check the bottom panel for the phrase "SoundLink Bluetooth speaker III" following the Bose logo.

The Bose SoundLink III can be distinguished from earlier generations of the product by its fully upright stance when placed on a flat surface and its lack of a cover flap. For further identification, the SoundLink III has a total of 6 buttons on its top panel which are (in order from left to right) the power button, Bluetooth button, AUX button, mute button, volume decrease button, and volume increase button.
