Background
The Asus Eee PC 1000HD is a Netbook that runs on Windows XP Operating System. Its newest feature includes a 10-inch widescreen and an increase in CPU power up to 1.7 GHz. The 1000HD is a cheaper version of the 1000 series, with a shorter battery life of 7 hours compared to the 1000 series. Its hard cover body comes in the colors black, white, red, and green; in addition to its sleek and glossy surface. The slightly smaller keyboard area in comparison to earlier Netbook models makes it more comfortable to type and transport.
The more detailed specifications and features of the Asus Eee PC 1000HD includes a built-in memory card reader, large internal storage with up to 160 gb of disk space, 1gb ddr2 ram, and a wireless card with 802.11 b/g wireless LAN compatibility. It also features integrated speakers with built-in audio. There has been no known failure modes or factory recalls for this device as of this year; however, in the past there had been recalls on earlier versions such as the Eee PC 900 in countries such as the United Kingdom and Hong Kong due to battery issues.
In October 2008 the 1000HA was produced as a cheaper but less powerful alternative to the 1000 HD.
