The Acer Aspire 3000 was made to be a strong competitor in the laptop market. The Acer Aspire 3000 runs the Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition operating system and comes with features such as 3DNow! Professional technology, Enhanced Virus Protection, HyperTransport technology, PowerNow! technology, integrated memory controller, and streaming SIMD extensions 2. In addition to having an extensive library of available features, the laptop is completely open-source, allowing the user to customize the computer any way they see fit.
The Aspire 3000 features a nice wide touch pad, two big mouse buttons, and a convenient rocker button for scrolling through documents or Web pages. It's also a smidge larger than other competitive laptops.
Identification
To identify the Acer Aspire 3000, flip the laptop facedown, to where the underside of the laptop is visible. There is a panel slightly to the right of center on this underside that contains information regarding the laptop's specifications. This panel should read "Aspire 3000 series" just above the model number if the laptop is a Acer Aspire 3000. A small label below the laptop's screen on the right hand side should read "Aspire 3000" as well.
