Code E24 with water draining
Checked filter clean pored water in and it drains perfect check line all the way to garbage disposal when timer hits 2:28 it throws E24 code
E24 is Bosch's drain fault: the board does not see the water level drop when it runs the drain. So the problem is rarely "water cannot leave the tub" - it is "the machine did not clear its level check."
Pouring water in tests something else. That only proves the hose is open under gravity. The cycle test is: pump runs, level sensor watches the sump empty. Three things break that path.
1) The drain pump never ran. Start a cycle and be at the machine at 2:28, hand on the lower left of the base (that is where the drain pump sits). Hum with no water moving = impeller jammed. Complete silence = no power or no signal getting there, so check the pump connector and the harness under the base before buying anything.
2) The pump ran but the sump did not empty. Pull the filter basket and fine filter, then look at the sump floor. The non-return valve flapper and the coarse filter are where glass, a lemon seed, or a scrap of plastic film sit. With the breaker off, turn the pump impeller by hand: it should move with light drag, not grind and not be solid.
3) The pump ran, the water left, and the board still thinks it is full. That points at the level sensor's pressure hose - the thin tube from the sump up to the sensor. Grease and food film plug it, the sensor keeps reading "full," and E24 fires with a perfectly good drain. This is the one that fits "I poured water in and it drains perfect." Clean the sump and flush that hose before you replace any part.
Two cheap checks worth ten minutes:
- Hose into the disposal: pull the end back so it sits an inch or two inside, do not let it go deep. If the dishwasher was installed recently, check the knock-out plug in the disposal stub too.
- High loop: the hose should rise to near countertop height before it drops to the drain. A hose that hangs flat leaves water in the sump and can trip the same code.
Model number matters for pump access. It is on the inner door rim or the frame edge (the E-number, like SMV... or SMS...). Tell me which one you have and I will tell you how that base comes apart - some come off the side panel, some only after tipping it back.

@danjennings What model Bosch Dishwasher do you have? It should be on the label on the backside of the Dishwasher.

@user5136121 T. the tag for the model number on Bosch dishwashers (and most others) is usually found along the inner door rim or frame :-) but yes, we do need that number wherever it is.

@oldturkey03 Thanks for the correction. I don't have a Bosch dishwasher, and I don't really do the internet that often. 😅

@user5136121 I just know from my own DW experiences :-) Always verify any information we post. OP's need to know to trust what we say since we are just some typed words on an internet side. They do not know us and just like I don't trust everything I read, I expect the same from OP's. :-)
