How to Extend battery life

Start by dimming the screen. The display uses more power than anything else. Pull down the top menu and lower the brightness as much as you can stand, or turn on Adaptive Brightness so it adjusts automatically.

Next shorten the screen timeout. Go into your display settings and set the screen to turn off after 15 or 30 seconds of inactivity.

Now kill unnecessary radios. If you aren't actively using Bluetooth, GPS, or Wi-Fi, turn them off. They constantly scan for connections and drain your power.

Also turn on Battery Saver in your software. Go to your Settings, find the Battery menu, and turn on Battery Saver. This automatically stops apps from updating in the background and pushes the phone to run more efficiently.

Last but not least, you want to check for battery hogs. In that same Battery menu, look for any that are using the most power. If an app you rarely use is draining the battery, uninstall it or restrict its background usage.
