Why is my ac not cooling

Recently added a Freon to my vehicle, the ac cooled for a day and the next day it started blowing hot air. How do I fix this?

Unfortunately, you made the same decision as many other owners attempting vehicle ac repairs without familiarity of refrigeration. Whether you know this or not, vehicle ac systems are assembled and sealed during factory vehicle manufacturing. Normal wear and road shocks weaken aluminum fittings until cracks develops, front compressor seal and/or service valves wear out. Vehicle ac systems rarely last forever with approximately 98% damage occurring from a leak no one wants to acknowledge but will try using refill kits containing sealer. Sealer effectively contaminates and condemns any repair because ac repair shops can refuse work as they know their equipment will be contaminated when connections and measurements are made. They may simply suggest an overhaul to rebuild a contaminated system to rid it of sealer; compressor, evaporator, hoses, fittings, etc. Sealer is not used anywhere in refrigeration because of the damage it causes with false, temporary repairs. Diy repairs must follow professional diagnosis, troubleshooting and repairs to restore ac function back to factory condition.

The best way any diyer can attempt a repair is either use refrigerant with dye only (absolutely no sealer) and use an inexpensive uv blacklight. Less than half a can of refrigerant with dye can help pressurize a leaking system. Once dye circulates, any leak will release refrigerant, oil and dye. Refrigerant is a gas and invisible. Refrigerant oil marks areas motor oil will not; worn service valves, condenser coil, ac fittings, front compressor seal hidden by the clutch assembly, thermal expansion valve by the firewall, evaporator coil inside the hvac enclosure housing ac heater coil. Shining the uv blacklight everywhere should illuminate leaks as dye marks the leak site, glowing greenish yellow. Ac repair shops know this and will not reveal how they find leaks. If you venture this far and find the source of leaks, you can determine what repairs are needed or use professional services. Diyers can make the same repairs as professionals but must use all the equipment; ac gauges, hoses, couplers, can taps, electric vacuum pump, etc. Once a leak is found and a system is opened, parts replaced along with new seals, a vacuum pump removes all air and moisture. If a repair holds a vacuum after the pump is turned off, this is the final test of any leak remaining whether from incorrect repairs or a leak still exists but not found (evaporator coil and thermal expansion valve damage). A repaired system holding a vacuum is ready for refilling with refrigerant.

Ac repairs are not diy friendly.
