@preetsinghmann you will need to flush the steering system and change the power steering fluid. Check this Mitsubishi Lancer Power Steering Components And Function. Since iFixit does not yet have a specific guide for that use something like this video to get it accomplished.
While you work on your car, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. If you have a Mitsubishi Lancer EX 2013 with hydraulic power steering (most 1.6L and some 2.0L variants), you can change the power steering fluid yourself. If your car has Electric Power Steering (EPS), there is no steering fluid to replace.
Step 1: Confirm your steering type
Open the hood:
- Hydraulic Power Steering: You'll see a small power steering fluid reservoir with a cap labeled "Power Steering."
- Electric Power Steering (EPS): There is no reservoir.
Tools and materials
- Mitsubishi-approved Power Steering Fluid or DEXRON III ATF (check your owner's manual or reservoir cap)
- Turkey baster or fluid suction pump
- Funnel
- Drain pan
- Pliers (for hose clamp, if doing a complete flush)
- Clean rags
Method 1: Simple fluid replacement (recommended for DIY)
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and switch off the engine.
- Clean around the reservoir cap.
- Remove the cap.
- Use a suction pump or turkey baster to remove as much old fluid as possible.
- Refill with fresh fluid to the "MAX" mark.
- Start the engine.
- Turn the steering wheel slowly from full left lock to full right lock 10–15 times.
- Switch off the engine and repeat the suction/refill process 2–3 times until the fluid remains clean.
Method 2: Complete system flush
- Disconnect the return hose from the reservoir.
- Place the hose into a drain container.
- Plug the reservoir return port.
- Fill the reservoir with fresh fluid.
- Have an assistant start the engine for only a few seconds while you continue adding fresh fluid. Do not allow the reservoir to run dry.
- When clean fluid comes out of the return hose, stop the engine.
- Reconnect the hose securely.
- Fill the reservoir to the correct level.
- Start the engine and turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times to bleed any air.
- Recheck the fluid level and top up if necessary.
Capacity
- Total system capacity is approximately 0.8–1.0 liter.
- For a complete flush, it's a good idea to have 2 liters of fresh fluid available.
After replacement
- Check for leaks around the hoses and reservoir.
- Ensure there is no whining noise from the power steering pump.
- Verify the fluid level again after a short drive.

Can you explain the problem is the steering stiff or make noise when you are at the end of the steering wheel's travel either way?
