Using with toothed blades

I recently purchased this Ryobi cutoff tool. While reading the user manual, I notice that using a toothed cutting blade is not recommended. I like the little thing, but that is one of the reasons that I bought it, to cut small wooden things. The 3" saw blades are readily available. Does anyone know why they are discouraged?
