”PS2”として知られた第6世代のゲームコンソールは、Sonyによって2000年3月に日本国内で発売されました。米国では2000年後半にSCPH-30000として発売されました。このデバイスの修理には一般的なツールが必要ですが、技術を要する場合があります。

Issues with PS2 after replacing CMOS battery

Me and my brother recently opened up one of our old PS2s which is an SCPH-30003R. Before we replaced the CMOS battery, the disc drive was shooting out extremely fast, and it couldn't be closed, until we hit the reset button after which it worked and would read games.

Today we replaced the CMOS battery and all is well, it turns on fine and I can set the date and time, but the now the disc drive won't open at all and the blue light has no light at first, but upon pressing it it flashes for about 8-10 seconds before the light goes back off. The console otherwise has no other issues other than this.

Hi!

Yes that issue you are describing (the disc drive that is shooting out fast) is related to the CMOS battery. So replacing that should fix it.

The issue you are having now is related to something else. I don't think it's related to the top cover as the blue light won't turn on.

I would check the power/eject button ribbon cable to see if it's not damaged, it sound like it is. Otherwise replace this one. It's most likely the cable that has damage.

Can you let us know how that goes?

Thank you!
