No power at control panel

I have a Kenmore Elite Smartheat Quietpak 9 that has no power. The door light comes on, but nothing else works, I hear the relay click on the main board when the door opens and closes as well. So far I’ve tested the thermal fuse, the resistor, the main coil, the door switch, both thermostats, and the belt tension switch. Everything has tested out good. I checked for power at the outlet, I checked the power cord itself for resistance across each wire, everything is good. As a result of my findings, I replaced the main control panel and the control panel for the display in conjunction with each other, figuring that was all that would be left.

Note: prior to this issue I had bad rollers and I replaced those, the belt, and tensioner. I tested the dryer and it worked fine, the next day, I had this concern.

After replacing both control panels, I have the same symptoms. Door light comes on, no power at panel, no beeps, nothing. I am at a loss, I don’t know what else to replace or test, I don’t usually get to this point but this thing is kicking my butt. Haven’t done laundry at home in two weeks now, need a fix asap please.

Hi @artieanton

Here's the tech sheet that may help.

@jayeff I’ve tested all the wiring to the power cube, and then across the wiring from the main board to the interface board. Nothing wrong with any of it. The power cube board looks fine, no burning, and the capacitors look okay. I verified the outlet and breaker are good a few times now on the house side, I’m still lost.

Is it possible for the power cube to have failed with no visual indicator? At this point it’s the only board I haven’t replaced and I’ve tested so much else so thoroughly I’m not sure what else it could be @jayeff

@artieanton

With power connected to the dryer, check if there's +5V DC between power cube connector P2 pin 2 and P2 pin 1.

If OK check control board P003 pin 2 and P003 pin 3 for +5V DC.

You may have already checked this but you may have to start again

If the power cube is part # 3407228 there's a small T3.15A 250V fuse (small red round type) on the board left hand side.

Make sure if it is blown that you get a T3.15A (example) not a 3.15A 250V.

The T indicates thatis is a slow blow fuse T = timed.

A standard fuse would blow straight away when the power is

The fuse appears to be blown, I have 0 continuity across the solder joints. I’m gonna try to replace this tomorrow, I will let you know how that goes. Thank you greatly for your help, that was exactly what I needed. @jayeff

@artieanton

Get 2-3 fuses.

Fuses usually don't fail for no reason so it may be that if you replace the fuse it might blow again soon afterwards.

If it does then there's another problem that has to be found.
